Just keep dreaming...

Coz you gotta have dreams.

Well, I have a few actually but just picking one, for a moment, this is it.  Specifically the MK3 from Cargo Bike Australia. I can't see myself doing much more except continuing to try and save up for one for now, but it never hurts to hold on to a dream... and it's a small one compared to the others I have!  I've emailed a few times now with Cargobike and I am sure it's what I'm after.

I've calculated if I swap the car for the Cargo Bike (once I have one, of course) for just 3 return trips a week, that will save me x in fuel.  I even went as far as to work out how long it would take the Cargo Bike to pay for itself in saved fuel - and that's not counting the bonus exercise, slowed down pace and chatting that happens along with it, less wear and tear on the 'car' as well.  Having borrowed a Christiania bike before, I know it's something I'll use.  The more you use it, the more you use it, I think.

oh okay, actually I'll share two of my dreams! lol this one as well.  Sun Cook Solar Oven.

It means that in summer I can bake fresh bread (or stocks or soups to freeze) or anything else outside every day without heating up the kitchen.  It means that I can go camping for a week or more and have fresh bread, cakes, muffins or whatever.  I can put on a slow cook meal at lunch and get back from the beach in the evening and dinner is done...
I think it's a little bit rude to put that on my 'wish list' for Father Christmas this year... though I don't have a wishlist in the first place lol so that probably doesn't help!  *sigh* keep saving.  Keep dreaming!  Ya gotta have dreams.

I see a mother and sometimes the father with two children in the front of the bike that you are looking at getting, it scares me a little to see them as they ride this on a really busy road in peak hour traffic, obviously taking their children to kindy...I guess depends on how busy the traffic is .....

We have the same dreams!

Although I've managed to get the solar oven. Heather (in the vid) has decided life on land is more to her liking and is now my house mate. So our household now has two Sun Cook Solar Ovens and a huge parabolic solar oven.

Were about to rent out the third bedroom - now if only I could find a cargo bike distributer housemate ;-)

ah yes - I am not one for riding on the roads. Gives me the heebie-jeebies. Husband of a friend of mine who does ride on the road says when he does ride on the road (just him, no kids) it doesn't bother him yet when he's in a car, he realises how 'close' it all is.

I've done the ride with the Christiania bike before and it was really good. Apart from getting bitten by a dog, but that could have happened walking as well. you know?

lol Tricia :)

no way that Heather is your house mate! That's nuts (in a good way/small world and all that)!

yes, rent out the third bedroom to a cargobike distributor housemate or someone specialising in some other eco-skill... and grow your community right from there!

Dreams are free eh. ;)
