Brooke's hand carved wooden waddling pull-along duck

Brooke bought home her finished hand carved little pull-along wooden duck (woodwork and mechanics class). The wheels on it are offset so it 'waddles' side to side.

this little wooden duck...

It works best on the slate floor rather than the smooth 'wood' floor but when you get it going along it really does waddle side to side.

It's very cute and I am proud of her for finishing it.  Pretty darn cool when the end product of a class is a functional hand-made wooden toy.  Quinn has already taken on the role of 'tester' and so far it's standing up well!

That is amazing, well done Brooke.
K, you've obviously been busy studying. Hope all is well in your world. I am about to hunker down for winter and kick my houses ass. Like the old days, just this time I am starting way before Christmas. How does this stuff keep turning up year after year. Oh the joys of a large family.

I quite like the little duck meself :)

Good luck with your KAing Nik! No matter how hard you K the A it's always there isn't it.

Me, yes, inbetween being sick, kids being sick, the house, the kids, school runs, baking and all the other usuals, I have been trying to fit study in.

And yes I hear you - same same. When exams are done I have a list that I've been adding to. See how we go ;)

That's a very cute duck. Impressive. I remember my first woodwork project - a cement plane. The handle fell off the first time my Dad tried to use it. I think I would have been more motivated to make a duck.

Lanie it did take me a minute to realise what you meant... a cement plane (concrete flying thing?)... lol but then I twigged (thankfully!).

Bummer that it came apart on first use... :( Did you manage to fix it?

Thats brilliant! I'd be thrilled to make something like that myself. Brook ought to be proud.
