Finally. An advent idea I know I'll actually DO!
This one, from 'Little Eco Footprints' blog is one we're going to do this Christmas. Better still we can make it together, collect up the leaves, string them up and the older kids can put the numbers on...
simple. no 'consumer' outlay and no 'consumerism' focus. recyclable at the end. yet still catches the excitement of the countdown. brilliant!
now... the big question.
Do you start taking the leaves off at '25' ie 25 days to go (25 leaf removed), 24 days to go (number 24 leaf removed)... OR do you start at the other end... take off leaf number 1 on the 1st day of Dec... leaf number two on teh second day etc...
? LOL

I was thinking of changing it this year (just to be different) to count down the days till christmas. So that the last leaf was a '1' or a '0".
Guess it depends on what sort of mood you are in ;-)
I start on 25th and count down if you get what I mean. So the kids know its 7 "sleeps" til Christmas.
I love this time of year. But its a bloody hot one today isn't it....
